The Florida Family Policy Council (FFPC) is seeking to build on the state's new marriage-protection amendment by strengthening marriages. The statewide campaign, "Strong Marriages Florida," launched Tuesday.

Through premarital counseling and community marriage initiatives, FFPC President John Stemberger said the goal is to cut Florida's divorce rate by 10 percent.

"We don't have money anymore to just throw at problems," he said. "We need real solutions to real problems, and we're presenting some common-sense solutions here that we think could really make a difference in the lives of real people."

Stemberger's group is working with Live the Life and Mike McManus' Marriage Savers.
